Give Your Home a One-Day Household Makeover

Women get tremendously excited over the opportunity for a beauty "makeover." It's fun to have a professional make up artist discover your best features and make them stand out. It is flattering to learn what "interesting features" a total stranger can find on the face that is so familiar to you.

Of course you realize that your own hand will never duplicate the work of artistry reflecting back through the mirror. You know that by the next morning, the experience will be history and you will have returned to your former unglamorous state, but for a few hours you felt truly pampered and cared for, the center of attention. It was well worth the time and money.

Why can't we give this same kind of "makeover" to our home? We realize that the final product of a "household makeover" will not remain in the same state forever, either, but the benefits will linger much longer than the concealing stick of a makeup artist.

Plan a week or two in advance to give your home this one-day special treatment and you may actually find yourself looking forward to it!

Change the sheets

Do laundry

Run the dishwasher

Clean toilets

Run a feather duster on all hard to reach places

Clean mirrors

Dust

Run the sweeper

Shake area rugs outside

Sweep the patio and porch

Run the Shop Vac in the garage

Drive the car through the car wash

Finally, treat yourself to a simple manicure and a luxurious bath complete with bubbles and cup of tea.

You will feel wonderful about the day's accomplishments for weeks afterwards!
